# canon verses

default :// tends to sit somewhere between the canon events of seasons three and four. that means that for the most part, erin is dealing with feelings of guilt, grief, and fluctuations in her mental health due to the loss of nadia decotis. losing nadia is such an integral part of erin’s journey, and her feelings that follow strongly influence the detective that she becomes towards these later seasons. her sometimes irrational and sometimes unpredictable approaches towards these later seasons for her stem from her deep need to try and correct things, to try and redeem herself for letting nadia get hurt. it also follows the events with her half brother, teddy, which only enhance those feelings of needing to protect others, redeem herself, and protect as many people as she can. she feels incredibly guilty any time anybody close to her gets caught in the crossfire.season one :// i love season one erin, i love her desire to do good, to make some positive change in chicago. her loyalty to the team is unmatched. while i think further seasons play a big role in who erin is as a person, writing within this verse is more than welcome, as well as the build up to significant events within the one chicago universe.post canon, canon compliant :// the implied canon as of the end of season four of chicago pd. this verse is based in new york, and can allow erin to slip into plenty of fandoms that might fit that criteria.post canon, canon divergent :// the insinuation was that erin took up the offer, and all actions point to that effect. however, in this divergency, erin never made it. instead, she packed up her things and left chicago. where she moved to can be depending on the plotting/partner, but i’m basically leaving the door open for canon events to have occurred but for erin to wind up literally anywhere else.

911 :// following nadia's death, erin couldn't face living in chicago any longer. instead, she left that city behind, packed up and moved to los angeles where she transferred to work under athena grant. this move would typically take place post season two, in time for the tsunami.criminal minds :// while still inspired by hank voight, instead of joining the police academy erin applied for quantico. given her past, it wasn’t an easy ride for her - there were a number of character witnesses to speak on her behalf, to assure the bureau that she had turned her life around and that she would ultimately be an asset. erin joins the bureau, and a couple of years later transfers to the behavioural analysis unit. erin joins the unit ( in criminal minds canon ) at around season four. this means that she is part of the team for the events of 100, emily’s ‘death’, zugzwang, the replicator, etc.

# undercover verses

canon aligned :// this can place any time during the events of chicago pd - if you’re familiar with the show we can work out when might suit the sort of plot we want to go with. it is well known that the intelligence unit went undercover, but it could very well be that another unit within cpd has called on erin based on her history. this could also be fun if it’s someone who knew erin as a teen/pre-cpd for that added element of betrayal and SPICE.post canon aligned :// canon up to the events of the end of season four, meaning that erin is working undercover as part of the fbi. she’s based out of new york. she can slip into a lot of worlds this way that are based on new york.alternate fandom :// pick a place any place and have her undercover for whatever reason suits your muse/fandom. it’s an easy way to slip erin into fandoms that it might otherwise be hard to - let erin work stocking shelves at Cloud9 to interact with your superstore muses, let her be a high school teacher who’s simply not good at her undercover job, let her be caught by your law enforcement muse who doesn’t know who she is! basically what I’m saying is the fact that she’s undercover doesn’t even have to come up necessarily it’s just a justification for me to have more verses and write with you all okay.
